Blowie Hardness Tester
The Burawoy hardness tester is actually a comprehensive testing instrument based on the ISO, ASTM and JIS standards, allowing users to conduct Rockwell, Vickers and Brinell hardness tests on the same instrument. Burawoy hardness testers operate according to standard procedures rather than converting hardness values. Unlike most hardness testers that only test one scale (Rockwell, Vickers or Brinell), Burawoy hardness testers cover a wide range of test forces and measurement processes.

Types of Blowie Hardness Tester
Rockwell hardness tester
The rockwell hardness tester is one of the most common and widely used hardness testers. It uses a combination of a minor load and a major load applied to the surface of the material being tested. The depth of the indentation created by the major load is then measured, and the hardness of the material is calculated based on this measurement.
Vickers hardness tester
The vickers hardness tester is a type of micro-indentation hardness tester that uses a diamond indenter to make a small indentation on the surface of the material being tested. The size of the indentation is then measured using a microscope, and the hardness of the material is calculated based on this measurement. This type of hardness tester is highly precise and is well-suited for testing brittle materials that may not be suitable for other hardness testing methods.

Shore hardness tester
The shore hardness tester is a type of durometer that measures the hardness of materials such as rubber, plastics, and elastomers. It uses a spring-loaded needle to make an indentation on the surface of the material, and the hardness of the material is calculated based on the depth of the indentation.
Leeb hardness tester
The leeb hardness tester is a type of portable hardness tester that is used to measure the hardness of metal materials. It uses the rebound principle, where a small impact body is propelled against the material being tested, and the hardness of the material is calculated based on the rebound velocity of the impact body.
Process of Blowie Hardness Tester
The basic principle of the Blowe hardness tester that can reduce the cost of purchase and maintenance is as follows: The Blowe hardness tester combines three hardness testing methods, namely Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers. The Blowe hardness tester uses a sensor that displays the hardness value after the indentation test. In terms of operation, the Blowe hardness tester is not only very stable, but also very sensitive.
The Operation Process of the Blowe Hardness Tester
Preparation
- Place the blovi hardness tester on a stable surface and make sure the surface of the instrument is clean.
- Prepare the metal sample to be tested and ensure that the surface of the sample is smooth and without scratches.
Calibration Instruments
- Use a special calibration block to calibrate the blovi hardness tester to ensure that the test results are accurate and reliable.
- Choose the appropriate hardness test head:
- Select an appropriate hardness test head according to the hardness range of the metal sample to be tested. There are usually test heads of different specifications to choose from.
Carry Out Hardness Test
- Press the blovi hardness tester vertically and gently on the surface of the sample to be tested, and slowly press the test head down until it contacts the sample surface.
- Maintain constant pressure, observe the reading, wait a few seconds, and then retract the test head.
- According to the impression measurement of the test head, find the corresponding hardness value on the hardness tester to obtain the hardness value of the sample to be tested.
Record The Test Results
Record the hardness value of each test in the test report, including the test location, test head specifications and other information.
Cleaning And Maintenance
- Clean the test head and surface of the hardness tester promptly after each use to ensure the cleanliness and normal function of the instrument.
- Perform regular maintenance on the hardness tester to extend the service life of the instrument.
Safety Precautions
- When using the blovi hardness tester, be sure to pay attention to safety protection to avoid accidental injuries.
- During the test, pay attention to keeping the test head and sample surface clean to avoid interference with the test results.
Through the above steps, hardness testing using the blower hardness tester can be accurate and reliable, providing important data support for material hardness evaluation.
How to Maintain Blowie Hardness Tester
Cleaning Is The Basis Of Maintenance
Regularly wipe the surface and test location of the hardness tester with a soft cloth to keep it clean and functioning properly. Avoid using corrosive and solvent cleaners, and do not use abrasive cleaners to wipe the hardness tester, otherwise they will scratch the surface.
Keep The Pressure Head Clean And Intact
The indenter is a critical part and must be checked regularly for cracks, damage or major wear. If the above problems are found, the appropriate pressure head must be replaced. At the same time, attention should also be paid to the lateral distance of the indenter during measurement to avoid unnecessary errors.
Regular Calibration To Ensure Test Accuracy
In order to ensure the accuracy of test results, regular verification is required. During verification, standard test blocks need to be used for verification. If the error is found to be large, it needs to be adjusted or sent for repair in time.
Keep Instrument Accessories In Normal Operation
In addition to the host computer, some accessories are also required for use, such as printers, computers, etc. These accessories also require regular maintenance to ensure their proper functioning.
Replace Parts Regularly
Over time, some parts may wear out or age, such as the hardness tester needle. Therefore, these parts need to be inspected and replaced regularly to ensure the normal operation of the instrument and the accuracy of test results.
Avoid Violent Vibrations
Severe vibration may affect its accuracy and service life. Therefore, severe vibrations to the instrument during use should be avoided.
Burawoy Hardness Tester Operation Method
Select the indenter according to the test, insert the indenter into the shaft hole of the measuring rod, and tighten the fixing screw.
Select the test force according to the test, and rotate the test force handwheel clockwise so that the required test force number corresponds to the fixed
Place the test piece securely on the test bench, align the test part with the top of the indenter, turn the wheel of the lifting screw, and slow down the rising speed before the indenter comes into contact with the test piece. After the test piece comes into contact with the indenter, The projection scale rises until the scale baseline and the fixed line of the projection screen are nearly coincident, allowing an error of ±5 division values, and then stops rising.
Use the fine-tuning knob to adjust the zero position so that the scale baseline coincides with the projection screen fixed line. If the fine-tuning knob cannot make the two lines coincide, it means that the fine-tuning knob has reached the limit. It is necessary to remove the test force and turn the fine-tuning knob to the middle position. , select another point on the specimen and repeat the above operation.
Push the force-adding and unloading handle forward clockwise. During the process of adding test force, the scale line displayed on the projection screen moves from top to bottom until the scale stops falling, and the dwell time starts to be calculated. When the time is up, pull the handle back to the original position and maintain the initial test force.
While maintaining the initial test force, the value of the indicator scale line aligned with the fixed scale line on the projection screen is the hardness value of the test piece. After reading the hardness value, you can lower the screw rod and remove the initial test force. Remove the specimen from the indenter. If the test is to measure Rockwell hardness, move the position of the test piece and repeat the above test twice (the distance between measuring points is more than 3mm), and the test results are averaged three times.
